French Manicure On Toes
French manicure is still one of the most popular manicure styles although it has been around for centuries. When the style was created it was used only for the finger nails but in our days it is also trendy to polish the toe nails, and why wouldn’t somebody use the same style for the pedicure as well?
There are some people who would like to do their own pedicure but they don’t know how so in this article I will tell you how to do a French manicure on toes. There are some things that you will need: cotton balls, polish remover, emery board, warm water, Epsom salt, liquid soap, rubber cuticle pusher, buffer, base coat nail polish, white nail polish, sheer French manicure overcoating and you might also want to use manicure guides.
If you have all this then you are ready to start. The first thing you have to do is to remove any trace of nail polish. To do this you should soak a cotton ball into the polish remover and then press it to the toenail. Wait for about 10 seconds and then wipe it toward the tips. This way you can avoid pressing the polish to the sides of the nail or staining the skin. Once you are ready you have to use the emery board to shape the tips.
Try to keep the tips squared otherwise it is possible for the nail to lend themselves to ingrown toenails. When you are ready you should soak your feet in warm Epsom salt and soapy water for about 10 minutes. Scrub the dead skin and use a pumise stone if needed to remove the calluses that might cause subdermal infection. After this if you wish you can push back the cuticle and buff the nails to remove ridges or irregularities.
Then make sure that you dry each toenail because otherwise the polish won’t adhere and after a short time it chip or peel. At this moment you can apply the base coat that has the function of protecting the nails and also (due to its different composition) it will bond in some way with the polish so that the manicure will be more resistant. If you choose to use tapes this might be the moment to stick them. Be sure that you stick them well so that no nail polish will get under it and adjust them well to achieve the perfect smile lines.
Once you are ready apply white polish to the tips. Use only one stroke from one side to the other and then apply another layer. Be careful no to apply too much polish so that the tips won’t get too thick. After a couple of minutes remove the tapes. After the white polish has dried, apply a thin layer of overcoat. If you wish you can apply another layer as well. Once the nails have dried you have finished your French pedicure. This is all you have to do to get a French manicure on toes.
