Most of the women have many things that they bought because at one point they needed it but there is a high possibility that they will never use it again. The advantage of these is that they are quite small, so they can be carried in any purse or makeup bag, so whenever you break a nail you can clip it or file it. This might be only a temporary solution, but it will be okay until you will have the time or the chance to have your nails done properly.

Usually the simpler manicure sets have leather cases and every tool has a little compartment made of elastic or other material. Most of the times, the case has a zipper on it.



It is only natural that in our times there are a lot more elaborate manicure sets available on the market. A more ‘upgraded’ version of the manicure set might feature besides the above mentioned a large and a small nail clipper, cuticle trimmer, cuticle shaper, cuticle pick, nailbrush, soap, cotton, fingernail polish remover, sticky tapes for French manicure. There are some women who keep their nail polish in the set. That might be useful so you don’t have to get them from another place, but let’s face it: most of has have too many polishes so they won’t fit in a manicure set, no matter how big that might be.

The cases, or it might be better to call them bags, are usually made of different synthetic fabrics, so they are impermeable. It is very common for them to have zippers, but they might as well have other kind of closing mechanism as well. There are the ones that have metal cases. They have the same tools, but they are a lot more expensive. The cost of manicure sets may vary between a couple of dollars and a few hundred dollars. Those less expensive can be bought at almost any drugstore.



The more expensive ones in most of the cases are bought as presents (not many people would give so much money for something that they might buy for a lot less money, but anyway it might be a nice and more special gift). The sets can be purchased online as well and there are a lot of different models to choose from. You can find sets designed for children and men also. For those who have to travel a lot, producers have designed more compact sets.
